Overview
The Bible teaches that we, as God’s children, fight against spiritual beings in spiritual warfare and their evil plots and understanding spiritual warfare meaning. The Bible very clearly describes a supernatural (spiritual) world that is either very close or interacts consistently with the natural (physical) world. All known living beings are creations of God that to some degree exist and have an eternal spiritual form according to scripture. Many of these spiritual beings are against, or are enemies of God and His creations that choose to follow His ways, namely, believers. This is why it is critically important for believers to not only understand the spiritual world, but the spiritual battles that exist all around them.
Preparation for Battle -We have a privileged position in Christ, and it is in this privileged position that we have access to God our heavenly Father, whom equips us for every good work, and for every battle against our enemies. Whom we come to, to make our requests.
Definition of Terms
The following is a list of terms when dealing with spiritual warfare, used throughout this article and the meaning in which they are to be referenced:
The World – is the direct reference to either the physical location of the earth; or, alternatively; to a/the human based social system(s), i.e. the government or media.
The Spiritual World – this term is interchangeable with alternative phrases such as ‘the heavenly places’. It is a literal place or plane of existence ‘above’ or external to the material, physical universe.
Angel – Is a spiritual being, created by God in the heavenly or spiritual realm that works in favor of God’s will. Angels are typically messengers of God.
Evil Spirit – Is the reference to any spiritual being that opposes the goodness of God, or the will of God. Wither or not all evil spirits originate from the spiritual world is unknown.
Fallen Angel – An angel that has fallen away from obedience towards God.
Demon – is the reference to any fallen angel, evil spirit or spiritual being defying obedience towards God.
Sons of God – reference to beings that apparently have a physical form and are even able to interbreed with humans. Their offspring are unnatural giant humans.
