Photographs show Javier Cabrera holding an unusually large fifth lumbar vertebra, described as human and reportedly found in the Ocucaje Desert near Ica, Peru. The specimen has been claimed to originate from “Cretaceous sediment,” which, if taken at face value, would imply an extreme anomaly.

Why the claim is unsubstantiated:

From a creationist perspective, the assertion that human remains cannot originate from Cretaceous strata rests on evolutionary dating assumptions rather than direct observation of human absence. Giant Footprint in Granite (South Africa)
A large footprint-shaped impression in granite was discovered in 1912 by Stoffel Coetzee in the Eastern Transvaal region of South Africa. The imprint has been interpreted by some as a fossilized human footprint of exceptional size and is often cited as remaining in its original geological position. The host rock is identified as part of the Mpuluzi Batholith, conventionally dated to approximately 3.1 billion years using uniformitarian dating methods.

Why the claim is unsubstantiated:
- Granite preservation of biological footprints is not known elsewhere
- No peer-reviewed ichnological study supports a biological origin
