How Can I be Saved? The Gospel Message
God tells us plainly that whoever believes in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, will not perish but will have everlasting life. For God sent His Son into the world to save it. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.
But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
– John 3. 16 – 20
The Problem – We Are Sinners Who Deserve Hell
We are all law breakers, we have sinned against our God and the laws God has written upon our hearts in our conscience. We are all guilty of breaking the divine moral laws God created in our universe, willingly going against His created purposes and plans for His creation and our own lives.
Each time we sin, we continue to do our own will over Gods will and desecrate His creation, choosing to be the god of our own life and disobeying the one true God who created us.
God loves us all and wants to love Him and have a relationship with Him; however sin has broken that relationship and cause an eternal separation from God because God cannot fellowship with sin. Whoever commits sin must pay the price which is death; spiritual death is separation from God.
We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers
— and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God
– 1 Timothy 1.8
Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God
– Galatians 5.19 – 21
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars — they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death
– Revelation 21.8
For you are not a God who wills lawlessness, nor shall the evildoer dwell with You
– Psalms 5.5
For the wages of sin is death …
– Romans 6.23
For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all
– James 2.10
We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away
– Isaiah 64.6
What Jesus Did for Us – Paid Our Price
Jesus paid the price for our sins, he died in our place and took our punishment for all our sins, all the sins that you have ever done, and that you will ever do so that you may share in His righteousness before God.
This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
God presented Him as the atoning sacrifice through faith in His blood, in order to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had passed over the sins committed beforehand
– Romans 3. 22 – 25
(Jesus) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls
– 1 Peter 2.24-25
And when you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions.
– Colossians 2.13
How to Receive His Free Gift of Salvation – Believe in Faith
We are to come to Him and believe in our hearts what He did for us, and confess Him as the Lord of our life. Accept Him into our hearts. Salvation is God free gift to those who believe
If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
– Romans 10. 9 – 10

True Believers – Live for God
A true believer is one that will continue to walk with God all their life, repentant of the ungodly and carnal nature that focuses on pleasing his heavenly father. If you truly believe in God, you devote your life to Him because you not only know He exists, and rewards believers.
You seek to align your will to His to please Him in your life. You will die to this world when you are born again living with Christ. You know you are a true believer because you will continue to follow Him all your life.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
– Galatians 2.20
They that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
– Galatians 5.24
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord
– Romans 6.11
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
– Hebrews 11.6
And whoever does not carry his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple…. In the same way, any one of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be My disciple
– Luke 14.27-33
God will present you holy, unblemished, and unblameable—if you continue in the faith
– Colossian 1.23
The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent
– John 6.28
Christians will struggle against their sin nature in this world
We will all struggle with sin (the desire to go against Gods will/ ways) while we have a carnal or flesh nature in this world. It is a part of our bodies and minds that has been corrupted since the fall of humanity. It is not until our physical body dies in this world that we will be completely free of its effects on us.
When we are born again by believing in Jesus death on the cross for our sins, we take on a new nature, our spirit comes alive and Christ’s nature that is born in us. Even though we as Christians hate this part that compels us to sin, we fight or struggle against it and its effects.
Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. …
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.
– 2 Corinthians 5. 14 – 18
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh; for I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do. Instead, I keep on doing the evil I do not want to do. And if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it
– Romans 7. 18 – 20
For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind
– Romans 7. 22, 23.a
For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief
– Psalms 24.16
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
– Romans 12. 1-2
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us
– 1 John 1. 9 – 10
You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us? But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.
James 4. 4 – 6
The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.
– James 5. 19-20
False Converts
Those who don’t Continue in the Faith where not true converts. Many think they were true converts because they believed, but never gave themselves over to Jesus completely, and remained in their sins.
As Jesus said, there will be many who call Him Lord, but he will tell them to depart because they were still workers of iniquity and doers of evil. A truly repentant heart is one that repents which means to turn away from sin and turn towards God in your life.
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
– Matthew 7.21
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless

You also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory
– Eph 1. 13-14
Those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified
– Romans 8.30
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand
– John 10.28-29
Those who die in their sins are lost
Every person will die, and after death they will be judged, if they are unbelievers. All believers have already passed from judgment to life.
Very truly I (Jesus) tell you; whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
– John 5.24
Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment

But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and you are tormented.
– Luke 16.23 – 25
The Question – For Your Life
Are you willing to give your life for Jesus? To obedient to God, to love Him and to serve Him. To make Him the God of your life? To repent which means to turn away from all sin, sin begin anything that is not of or for God. Jesus gave his life for you.
Or will you continue to be the god of your own life, serving whatever idol or ambitions you have for yourself. Serving yourself and your own interests and passions. Your own career or hobby or whatever else takes the place of God in your life?
Do you realize that the God of all creation, your Heavenly Father wants to have an eternal relationship with you? He created you and knew what is best for you. Who could give you a purpose or passion that is more important or perfectly fit then the one who created you?
Any joy or peace or happiness we could have in our life is secondary in comparison to the infinitely holy and loving God of creation. That is why sin is so bad, because you are giving up an infinitely perfect good, for a momentary pleasure that in comparison means nothing. You are giving up your birthright for a can of soup when you choose a life of selfish living. (Gen 25. 29 – 34)
